Thank You

I cannot thank you all enough for the lovely and heartfelt comments that were left on my last blog post. It was so nice to hear people were thinking of me, and when I showed them to my mother, (it was her aunt who passed) it prompted a watery smile from her. There isn't enough gratitude in the world to thank you all enough for that smile. You are all so kind and thoughtful.

In much lighter news, I have a finish to show you! We're just getting back to normal in the house now so I've had more time for stitching. Now here is Charizard in all his glory . . . (sorry for the slightly dark picture!)

This piece will be finished as a pin pillow for my boyfriend who is a big Pokemon fan. I'm going into town next week to get some special fire fabric for the backing material.
In other stitchy news, I will soon be making a start on the L*K design, All Things Bright and Beautiful, recently gifted to me by Terri. I will be stitching on this more often than the once a week LK SAL over at the Lizzie Kate Lovers blog, but I will post my progress on there every Tuesday. I've also joined my first exchange, which I am so excited about! The first designer chosen for the exchange is Prairie Schooler, and since I don't have any PS designs already, I was going to wait to see who my partner is and purchase a design that would suit them best. Is this the normal way to do exchanging? I thought it would be nice to get a design that they would appreciate. I would very much like to hear your comments on how you go about choosing an exchange piece to stitch.
I got awfully sun burnt on a recent trip away, so I've had to spend a lot of time indoors or in the shade, even though the weather has been so nice. I hope it continues, even though trying to sleep on these hot, sticky nights is not easy. I hope you're having fun whatever weather you've got.
Happy stitching to all,

I'm sure your boyfriend will be thrilled with your pillow, Bekca. Fire fabric sounds like the perfect backing...

Take care of that sunburn--ouch!! We're having the same hot, sticky weather and I'm more than ready for autumn to come...

Hey there Bekca!
Great finish. I know your BF will love it.
I'm afraid I don't have any advice about exchanging as I have never taken part in one of those. I don't trust myself to keep up my end of the deal so it's probably better that I don't get involved.

I have never been so glad to have central air than I am this summer. The heat is dreadful. A sunburn doesn't make it any better to tolerate either. I hope you find relief quickly.

Bekca, ooooh sunburn....take advise from someone who lives in Florida...aloe will take most of the sting out and keep it bearable.
I love the little guy you did for your boyfriend...you must show us the fabric you choose to finish him with. Goodluck with your first exchange....you'll love doing it.
Blessings!!

A lovely finish for your boyfriend. I'm sure he will love it. I know my kids would as Pokemon fans. Good luck with the exchange, it will be my first one too so I'm afraid I can't offer any advice.

love your finish and oucchiiiee to the sunburn .. aloe vera takes the burn out ... re your exchange (I'm in it too ;) have a good browse through the charts and find ones that you like, make a note and then when you get your partner chances are you find one in their that will suit them down to the ground.. but most of all enjoy what you are stitching for them as there is nothing worse that not liking something you are stitching :) hope that helps :) love mouse xxxx

Ouch on the sunburn!! Had some of that this summer too - it's not fun!
You'll have to show us your Pokemon all finished up - the fire fabric sounds perfect!
As for the exchange - Mouse's advice sounds great to me!! Good luck with it - we'll be watching to see what you end up doing!

Fantastic finish Bekca! That fabric sounds like it will be perfect for the finishing.
I've joined the exchange too but I'm afraid I can't give you any advice since this is my first exchange also. It should be fun though!

Charizard looks awesome!

Ouch, sunburn. Put plenty of moisturiser on that! I'm a bit of a hermit, so I haven't had sunburn since I was about 15 and went on family holidays >_<
